Under one roof

Mara inherited Helena’s big house but she has to share it with Liam, Helena’s nephew. He immediately shows her he doesn’t want that and tries to buy her out, but Mara says no. Mara does not like Liam’s behaviour at all, but he is also a lawyer for an oil company. Mara cares about the climate and can’t understand why he would for a company like that. But living together under one roof, means they get to know each other a little bit better. Mara discovers he is not as stupid as she thought. She actually starts to like him.

Review

Ali Hazelwood is known for her bestseller ‘The love hypothesis‘. Everyone loved that book, including myself. And this summer she is really publishing a few new books. There are three short stories like this one and one other book called ‘Love on the brain’, which comes out later this summer. This short story is about Mara and the other two short stories are about her best friends Sadie and Hannah. I think it is nice they get their own story.

Even though this book is very short, it was a wonderful book with a lot of chemistry again. It is the second book by Ali Hazelwood I’ve read, but she is really good at creating chemistry in her books. Her writing style is also very nice and easy, just perfect for me. Ali Hazelwood is one of the authors I am going to buy more books from. Because I know I will like it.

To read these three short stories you need an e-reader, I love to read on my Kobo, so I am fine. But I can imagine that there are people that don’t have an e-reader or don’t like to read on an e-reader. They still can listen to the audiobook, but I can imagine people wished it was also available in paperback or hardcover.
There is one thing I didn’t like though, I think the story is just too short. This book only has 112 pages. Yes, I was sad when it was over. I needed more of Mara and Liam.

This is the perfect book to read for a day at the beach or when you are just in the mood for a short story. It is just as good as ‘The love hypothesis’. I thought I liked ‘the love hypothesis’ better than this one, but I think that is just because this story is just short. And when a romance book is good, I wish the story was longer and had 400 pages.

If you loved the first book by Ali Hazelwood, you will like this one too. It has the same vibe and you can feel the chemistry between the two main characters Liam and Mara. If you don’t have an e-reader, find a way you can still read it. Maybe on your phone or maybe you can listen to the audiobook if you prefer that. Make sure you don’t skip this book. It will make you feel happy.

I am excited to read the other short stories and her new book ‘Love on the brain’. I am very excited about it, It is on my reading list for this summer.

    1. I checked, but I can’t find other comments from you, so I couldn’t just delete your comment so you wouldn’t get any emails again. Is it possible that you find the ‘unsubscribe’ in those emails?
