I am currently working on myself a lot to become the best version of myself. I will tell more about this later here on my blog, but one of the things I want to improve is my self-esteem. My self-esteem can be very high at some moments, but a lot of the times it is very low. And I analyzed why my self-esteem is so high at one moment and the next moment I barely have positive self-esteem. Here are my tips on how to boost your self-esteem.
Take care of yourself
This is for me the most important step to boost my self-esteem. Because when you take care of your body (inside and outside) you will definitely feel better.
You are what you eat, that is one thing I always hear. And it is true. I know I love to eat pizza and fries a lot, but I don’t always feel great afterwards. But when I eat veggies and fruits, I feel amazing. I am lucky that I can grow my own foods. We (our family) are currently renting a place in the community garden where everyone can grow their own food. I love going there, especially around spring and summertime. Everything is growing and you can just pick whatever you want. So it is even better and healthier (without those pesticides) than buying veggies/fruit at our supermarket. Choose your food wisely. You don’t have to give up your pizza, just make your own healthy pizza.
Another thing I am working on at the moment, because I have noticed how I can barely run 1k without getting out of breath. I picked up my work-out again. I am doing everything at home right now, I have found the perfect beginner work-out you can do at home. At first you don’t want to work-out, but afterwards, you feel amazing. You can conquer the world. It is definitely a great way to boost your self-esteem.
Outfit & Make-up
Another thing that can make me feel more confident is wearing my favourite clothes. When I put on my favourite clothes, I immediately feel a lot better and it definitely boosted my self-esteem. When I wear my favourite outfit, I feel like a badass sexy woman. And even though I barely wear make-up, just a little bit of mascara can make me feel awesome too. So even when you have a bad day, wear your favourite clothes.
Start focusing on your goals
I love to make to-do lists because when I can cross something off my to-do list, I feel amazing. I get the feeling that I’ve accomplished something. Even when I just cleaned the house. But the trick is that you make realistic goals for yourself. Don’t say that you want to run a marathon when you have never run a marathon. Start small with something like run 2k or 5k.
And don’t put too much on your (daily) to-do list either.
Fake it till you make
And if the rest didn’t work for you, you can always fake it till you make it. Think about how confident people look like, they are probably standing up right, shoulders back and they are energetic. Act like that and hopefully, you feel better soon.
