Review

When I saw this movie was coming to Netflix, I was a bit confused. Was this the movie from 2016? But it turned out that this is a remake. So at first, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to watch this movie. In my experience, the original is most of the time better. But since there wasn’t anything else on Netflix I wanted to watch on my movie night, I decided to watch this one.

It’s been a while since I read the book and watched the movie in 2016. I mostly remember that I liked the book but didn’t really like the movie. And I still knew a couple of things about the storyline but that was it. But when I was watching this movie, I already noticed they decided to change the storyline.

Originally the book is a psychological thriller but this wasn’t a thriller. Maybe that was because I kind of knew what would happen, but honestly, the movie from 2016 was a better thriller. What I find very weird was that everyone thought she did it. But somehow she could still walk around and the police weren’t even following her.

The acting was overacting. Pariniti was trying too hard to look like an alcoholic. The movie was pretty boring overall. I remember that the movie from 2016 had more action in it. Also, I didn’t like the music in this movie. It sounded too happy even though the lyrics were sad. But the music was just not right for this movie. But obviously, the book was just the best. If you really want to try this story, just buy and read the book. That book was amazing and great plot twists. This movie was just not it. At least not for me. Overall, on IMDB the reviews are mostly very negative but there are some people who liked it.
