Review
Before this series came out, I already heard a lot of people talking about it and I saw commercials about this new Netflix series on tv too. Netflix makes commercials for their best movies and/or series, so this series had to be good. So I decided to give it a go.
One of the first things I noticed is that my French is not so good anymore. I try to watch it without the subtitles but it was too hard. Probably because I haven’t read or spoken French in the last couple of years. Also, French people talk really fast!! But I already knew this because I took French classes in High School.
Anyway, back to the series. I liked it, especially in the beginning. He was brilliant, and every time I thought he was going to get caught and he was making a mistake, it was a part of his plan. That also reminded me of ‘the professor’ from La Casa De Papel. He is also really good at tricking the police. But in the end, he was getting into trouble. Someone knew who he was and followed him everywhere. That is the difference between him and the professor, nobody knows how the professor looks like. But Assene gets even on a tv program. So that was his mistake.
But Assene did all of this for his father and is trying to find out who’d really stolen his necklace 25 years ago. And all of his actions are inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin. The book he loves so much.
They already announced the second season, which is great because they ended with a cliffhanger. And I will definitely watch the second season too. This series was pretty great to watch and not boring at all. Even though I have the feeling he is making some mistakes, I can’t wait to see what will happen. This is a great series if you love ‘La casa de Papel’.
