Love and Monsters
7 years ago Joel had to run for his life when the monster apocalypse started. Since that moment he has been living with other people underground and never been outside again. But he is still thinking about his girlfriend Aimee from 7 years ago. He finally found her and now he wants to go to her. He decides to risk his life and leaves the group. On his way to Aimee, he makes new friends but he also has to run for his life a lot of times.
Review
I saw someone talking about this movie and on my Friday movie night, I decided to watch it. I had no idea what to expect. These days I don’t watch those trailers anymore because they give away the whole movie.
So the apocalypse turned smaller animals like frogs into giant monsters and also created a new kind of monsters and most of them are dangerous. this would be my biggest nightmare. What if spiders get even bigger? I would live underground for the rest of my life and never see daylight anymore. That sounds scary.
I know Dylan (who plays Joel in this movie) from Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner and I think he did a great job in this movie as well. But honestly, my two favourite people in this movie were the ones (the older guy and this girl) he met on his way to Aimee. Honestly, I am kind of hoping that there will be a second movie about them. I also immediately recognized the older man from The Walking Dead. I had no idea he was in this movie!
And the dog is also too cute and funny. I really loved the first scene of the dog boy and Joel together. That scene was hilarious and adorable.
But the movie was great. I am a sucker for those apocalypse movies (like the day after tomorrow). So I enjoyed watching this movie too. It was a fun adventure/apocalypse movie that you can watch with the whole family. This movie has everything. It has action, fantasy, comedy, survival and love.
Definitely a recommendation!
