Work it

Quinn is a smart girl and who has one big dream and that is going to the same university as her dad. When she has an interview at the university, she realizes that her extra activities weren’t enough. The counselor wants something extra from her. But then the counselor starts talking about the dance schoolteam, the thunder birds and Quinn tells her that she is a part of it. Two problems: Quinn isn’t a member of the Thunder birds and she can’t dance.

Review

I really was in the mood for a dance movie. And I have to say those dance movies aren’t always the best movies. Sometimes they focus too much on the dancing part and not on the storyline. Of course, this time I was hoping that they had focused on both.

And to be honest, I really enjoyed watching this movie. I know Liza Koshy from her YouTube channel and I love her energy. She is a bit crazy but in a very nice way. And in this movie, she has the same energy. I liked that. I also liked Sabrina, who plays Quinn, a lot. Basically I liked the whole cast.

And I have seen dance movies who were a lot worse. This movie only gets a 6.1 on IMDB and I think that is pretty low. A lot of people complain about the movie is too predictable and that there are already a lot of movies like this one.  But I can’t remember a movie just like this one. It is basically Pitch perfect for dancers. I really liked the song choices. The dancing parts were okay, not bad but not great either. Maybe they could have done better. It was not like I was blown away by their dance movies.

But I liked this movie. I think this could be a great movie to watch when you just want to watch a movie to distract yourself or when you don’t want to think about something else. I would recommend this movie if you like cute dance movies about teens.
