Diary #4: The One where Marie Kondo has taken over my life

Last Monday, I decided to watch one episode of the new Marie Kondo series on Netflix. Bad mistake, well probably a good one eventually. Because on Wednesday I woke up and the first thing I decided to do was to declutter and saying goodbye to things that not sparking joy for me anymore. I also started to organize everything and everything starts to look very organized. I love that, but it is a lot of work.

But while this Marie Kondo technique is mostly focused on items you own, I also realized the rules apply to the rest of your life. So I decided to make lists of things I still have to do, I am starting to use my agenda again. Right now, I feel so organized and it is bringing me a lot of joy. Although, I am wondering how I will feel after this has become my daily routine. Because every time I start something new, I feel pretty excited. But after a while it gets boring. I wonder if that will happen in the next two weeks or months. We’ll see!

Right now, I just feel amazing. I decided to donate things I don’t use anymore and everything feels lighter. I can definitely recommend this to everyone. You will find a lot of stuff you haven’t used in a very long time. I still have to organize a few things including my closet. That is probably going to be a huge project, so I will have to do that on a Saturday.

The rest of the week was pretty boring. But I realized on Saturday 18th September, there are not many days left this year. In fact, this Sunday morning I looked it up and saw that there are only 104 days left. So I made a few goals to focus on to end this year in an awesome way.
