About Sheer Mischief

In Sheer Mischief, Maxime Vaughan dumps her boyfriend and goes to her sister because she needs a place to stay. Her sister Janey is not very pleased with Maxime and she is trying to convince Guy Cassidy to give her the job as a nanny. Guy Cassidy is a very famous photographer and Maxine is immediately interested in Guy. But Guy is too busy with other women.

Janey has her own drama. Her husband walked away a year ago without saying anything. Nobody knows where he is, so she assumes that he is dead.

Review

I am a big Jill Mansell fan and I almost read every single book by now. Most books are romantic but very predictable. But I have to say that this book wasn’t that predictable. Normally in the first chapter, you already know who is going to end up with who but not this time. But that was nice for a change.

I have to admit that this wasn’t my favorite Jill Mansell book. I really didn’t like the characters this time. And normally you will like one person but not this time. Maxine goes from one man to the other, Janey is constantly focused on how she looks. Janey thinks that she is fat and other women are perfect. And Guy is just a player. At the start of this book, he had like 3 girlfriends. Of course, he lost his wife a couple of years ago and maybe that is why he doesn’t want to have a serious relationship with anyone. I think he was afraid to lose someone again.

I think Jill Mansell’s books are perfect for this time of the year. Her books are perfect for a sunny day. It is very easy to read, fun and romantic.
