Second first impressions

Ruthie works and lives at a retirement villa and she is afraid to step out of her comfort zone. Teddy is the opposite, he loves adventures. But now Teddy’s dad forces him to work at the retirement villa and he starts working for two older women who give him the weirdest things to do. Ruthie never has a real relationship and now her colleague is helping her to find the right one. But Teddy is not making it very easy to find someone.

Review

So normally, I love to read romance books about two people who are enemies at first but eventually they fall in love. But I haven’t read a lot of romance books about two people falling in love after being friends for a long time. But Second first impressions is definitely a ‘friend to lover’ romance book. And I liked it.
I think one or two years ago, I’ve read ‘the Hating game’ by Sally Thorne, which is the opposite of this book. That book was an enemy to lovers kind of book and I also liked that one a lot, but I think I liked this book better. I thought they would be more tension between two people if they are ‘enemies’ than just friends, but I was so wrong. There was a lot of tension between the two main characters Ruthie and Teddy.

I loved how Ruthie’s friends wanted to protect her from Teddy because he is a player. And he has a history of running away from girls without saying goodbye. But this shows even players (men and women) can settle down at some point in their lives.

To be honest, I think this is the kind of relationship I want. I want to find someone who is my best friend and lover at the same time. I know I like to read about enemies to lovers romance books, but I prefer this in real life.

Anyway, love the writing style. It is the kind of book you would and will read in one day. I had a hard time putting down this book every night. It was hard not to finish it in one night. I would definitely recommend this book for this summer if you are into romance books. It was super cute and there was chemistry between the characters. I just loved it. Sally Thorne proves again that she is an amazing author.
