Prey

Roman, his brother Albert and three other guys are going hiking in the forest. Roman is getting married and this is his bachelor party weekend. But when they are hiking, they hear gunshots. At first, they think it is someone who is hunting. But soon they realize this person is not hunting for animals, this person wants them to die.

Review

Netflix is releasing more and more thriller movies and series, now Halloween is around the corner. Normally, I like to watch romance and comedy, but this time of the year I also like to watch thrillers and horror movies. Prey is the new Netflix Thriller and the story sounded very interesting.

And it could have been very interesting. There are 5 guys and they are having a bachelors party weekend because Roman is getting married soon. They decided to go hiking in the forest but they are definitely not alone and not welcome because someone tries to kill them. While this sounds very promising and interesting, the movie was pretty dull. The beginning started pretty great. While they are getting to the car, someone is shooting at them. And it made me jump. I mean, I wasn’t scared. I guess I just didn’t expect it at that moment.

But honestly, for the most part, you see these 5 guys running through the forest and trying to escape this murderer. Which was a bit boring. I was expecting more action, a lot more. And these guys also made a lot of stupid mistakes. For example, if they saw the murderer walk in one direction, they also went that way. They just wanted to see what this person was going to do next I guess. But a normal person would have run away in the other direction. The guys also fought a lot, which was annoying too. None of the guys was actually likeable. At some point during the movie, I was actually thinking that it would be better if the killer would kill them all in just 5 minutes.

The acting was good though and eventually (at the end of the movie) you will find out why she kills all the men in the forest. Took me more than 1 hour to find out, but finally, they revealed her motivation. I just realized that she really never said a word during this movie. The guys were always talking, but not her.

The ending was also a bit disappointing, like really disappointing. I don’t want to spoil anything, in case you still want to watch it. But I was expecting something major would happen, but then this happened and I was like ‘this is it’? This is the end? I am not a horror/thriller movie expert, but even this was too boring for me.
