Summer is here! And that means a lot of you have vacations. But of course this year everything is a little bit different. A lot of people are staying at home or spending their vacations in their own country. I am doing the same this year. I have one week off and I am just staying home. But I have to work fewer hours than normal, which means I have more time on my hands. That is why I decided to make my Summer to-do list.

I got my inspiration from my own blog post with 100 things you can do at home and also from Pinterest. But I think I made a wonderful with cool things to do while sitting at home.

My summer to-do list

I am going to update this blog post regularly. So if I finish something from this list, you will read it here.

Start writing (poems and/or stories)

I have a Wattpad account and I also started writing a story on that platform. But I haven’t written in months, so it is time to update my story.

Spending more time offline

I think I am addicted to the internet and social media, which means I spend a lot of hours doing stupid things and basically wasting my time online. I want to spend more time offline so I have more time to finish this summer to-do list and be happier.

Eat from our garden

We are growing our own food in the garden and now it is the time to eat it. Most of the plants are almost ready to eat and honestly I can’t wait to eat it. There is something special about eating your own food after taking care of the plants for months.

Walking

I have one week off and that means I am just sitting at home and the sitting part is the thing I want to change. I want to be more active. Not only this summer but also after when summer is over. Walking is a great way to be more active.

Read 10 books

Spending more offline also means that I have more time to read. So in the next 2/3 months, I want to read 10 books. I already made a wishlist of books I want to buy so I can start reading very soon. Most of the books are Young-adults/romance but that is my favorite genre in summer.

Buy new books

The easiest thing to do on this list. Like I said I want to order a few new books and they are already on the wishlist. I only have to pay for them. And I love how excited I am about ordering new books. I love this feeling.

Watch Mulan and the Kissing booth 2

Last week, I was checking if new movies are coming out and I saw that Mulan is coming out at the beginning of July. And honestly, I am so excited and can’t wait to see it. It is probably one of my favorite Disney movies ever. And at the end of July, Netflix also releases The kissing booth 2 and I am secretly so excited to watch that movie too.

Try something new from the supermarket

I am definitely going to make a different blog post about this but I want to try new things from the supermarket. I already have one thing on my mind and that is mocktails. I don’t drink alcohol anymore but I’ve never tried mocktails. Not sure what I want to try more, but I will keep you posted.

Lose some weight/fat

Okay, it is more that I want to lose fat, but I think I am also going to lose some weight. Unless I gain a lot of muscles. But my focus on my stomach. I gained a lot of weight/fat in the last couple of months. I really have to make better and healthier decisions if I still want to fit in my jeans.

Try dot-to-dot for grown-ups

When I was younger I loved to make dot-to-dot puzzles. And I recently discovered that there are now dot-to-dot books for grown-ups (view on Amazon or Book Depository) and I honestly can’t wait to try it. It sounds very relaxing and perfect for a rainy day but of course, I can also do it outside. This is one of the things I want to do when I have a week’s vacation.

Work on my mental health

Even in summer, I am focusing on my mental health. Right now, I am ‘obsessed’ with the power of now by Eckhart Tolle. I noticed how many thought I constantly have and my brain is basically controlling me instead of that I am in control. So I want to work on my mental health. That is why I also wanted to spend less time online, but I want to try to be more mindful and meditate more often.

Make 10 TikToks

I already have a TikTok account but I haven’t made a new TikTok in months. But I think it is very funny to do. So I want to make 10 TikToks this summer. Just for fun.

Movie night on a rainy day

This is a tricky one because I don’t know if it is going to rain this summer. Last year, in 2018, we didn’t get rain for like 3 months and it was also super hot. But if we get a rainy day (and I have a day off), I want to have a movie day. One of the things I want to watch is the ‘Lord of the rings’ trilogy because I’ve never seen it.

Make a 1500 pieces puzzle

For my birthday in May, I got a puzzle with 1500 pieces. And I want to make it this summer. Probably on a rainy day too. 1500 pieces is a challenge and it is a pretty hard one too.

Finish my diamond painting

In December 2019, I started a new diamond painting But after just one or two weeks I stopped doing it. But it is time to finally finish it. I also have to buy a frame for it too so I can hang it on the wall.

So this is my Summer to-do list for 2020. Let me know what your plans are for the summer!
