How happy are you with your life? Maybe you are happy with everything that is going on in your life. Then this post might not be for you. However, if there is one (or more) thing(s) you would like to change, then this article is for you. Maybe you want to find a new career, the perfect life partner or just happiness. But nothing seems to work. There is a solution. If you want to see change, you have to change.
In this blog post, I will explain why and how you can do this. But remember that it is not going to be an easy journey. Let’s say you want to be happier. If you have been feeling down for a long time, it is not easy to change your mindset. It is going to take work. But remember it will be worth it. If you don’t change, you will be stuck in this same life for the rest of your life.
If you want to see change, you have to change
Insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting the same results. That is what Albert Einstein said and he is absolutely right. Let’s say you want to ‘find’ more happiness, but you were always looking for the answer in your outer world you will never find the answer. Because the answer is inside of you. You have to change.
Some of the things are easy to change. If you want a new job or house, you just look for it. But if you want to see bigger changes, you have to work on yourself. Although, if you constantly think you can’t find a new job or that dream house you might never find it either. Because like attracts like. It is that simple. According to the Law of Attraction, the outer world (your job, living situation, love life, friends etc.) is a reflection of what is going on inside of you.
The best example is when you are having a bad day and everything goes wrong. But when you always have bad days, you have a crappy life. But that means that if you have a good day, everything is easier and good things are happening to you. And of course, you want a good life. The problem is that most people are stuck in this poor mindset. If I look around I don’t see a lot of people who are actually happy. But the good news is you can change.
You can change your whole life if you want to. It just takes a little bit of work.
How to change?
Stop following the same routines
We wake up, go to work, come home from work, eat, watch television and go back to bed. Does this sound familiar? You are probably stuck in the same routine. You’ve been doing the same things for years and it has become a habit. But you can change it. You can do something fun after work instead of watching television. You can go out with friends or invite them for dinner. You can even do something different at work to make yourself feel better. Listen to great music, make your favourite lunch, go out for a walk or just have a great conversation with a colleague. This will already make you feel better.
This takes time and work, but it will be worth it. Especially when you have been feeling down for years now. Did you know that you are in control of your thoughts and emotions? We have a lot of thoughts during the day and some of them are negative. Some people get a lot of negative thoughts, but you can change that. Every time you get a negative thought, just stop the thought and let it go and focus on something else, something good. You can also decide to feel good. You can visualize yourself being happy and having everything you want, listening to good music, but having good and positive thoughts will also cause you to feel good.
Note: I wanted to mention that you shouldn’t push yourself too hard and feel bad when it is not working. It takes time to master your thoughts and emotions.
If you want to live healthier, make better choices for yourself. Get more sleep, eat healthier and exercise more. Find ways to relax, because stress has a negative influence on your health too. Stick to these habits until it feels natural to you. Make time each day to work on your mindset and so on.
Live in the moment
Appreciate each moment and you will feel better too. We always think about the things we have done in the past and the things we want to do in the future. But you are here in the now. Focus on that first. Make this moment a fun moment. Have fun right now, instead of planning to have fun in the future.
Don’t give up
As I mentioned, it is not going to be easy. You will have bad/hard days, especially in the beginning when you are changing yourself. But eventually, it will get easier. But never give up. Giving up means that you will be stuck in the same life you are living right now, do you really want that or do you want to see change?
And don’t forget to be nice to yourself.
