Review

I remember when I was about 10 years old I had a friend who was really into ‘the Winx club’. Every time I came over to her house, she wanted to watch it. But aside from those few episodes, I’ve never really watched the Winx club. Sometimes that can be a disadvantage because it doesn’t bring back a lot of great memories of my childhood. I have no attachment to it at all. But sometimes it can be an advantage. I could watch this without thinking that the original was better.

But I think they did a great job. I binge-watched it in two days ( I had to work too) and I really enjoyed this new series. I think it has the potential to get more seasons.
It is still very different if you compare it to the original, so go watch this with an open mind. Don’t expect something like the cartoons from your childhood. This is the live-action, grown-up version of The Winx Club. I remember that the original Winx Club was super colorful but this series is a little bit darker.

But definitely entertaining. I am really hoping for another season because I want to figure out what is going to happen with Riven, Dane, and Beatrix. Those three had major chemistry together. But I think Riven is gay or bi and has a crush on Dane. Hopefully, we can find out in the second season. The season finale was shocking and I want to get answers. How is this going to end?

I also think that the birth mother of Bloom was Mrs. Dowling, but I am not sure yet. But I got that feeling from the start. Maybe that is how Mrs. Dowling found her in the real world. Maybe she has been watching Bloom for years.

But yes, I think this series was great and I am already looking forward to the second season. Please Netflix, give me a season 2. This series is perfect for you if you liked The Shadowhunters. Bloom reminded me of Clary from the Shadowhunters. Not sure if it is the hair or their personalities. I remember Clary did a lot of stuff too without permission.
