Defensive play

Defensive play is about Davey, he plays in his high school football team and he is gay but nobody knows. One day he and his team have to play a game and that is when he meets Adam. Adam is one of the players on the other’s team. And immediately when he sees him, he feels attracted to him.

Review

It was the first day of April and I decided to read all day long. That morning I decided to start reading this e-book I found on sale. I immediately saw that this book was short and before lunchtime I already finished it.

This book reminds me of the heartstopper comic series. One guy is already out and the other isn’t. The same goes for this story. But I got the same feeling from this book as heartstopper, which was heart-warming. It was cute and I immediately liked the characters.

I was kind of sad that this only had 200 pages (e-book version) and I wish it was longer because I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the storyline and the writing style. I think I liked most of the things about this book. I am trying to think about what I didn’t like about this book. Well, it was too short.
I saw on Goodreads this was book 1.5 in the ‘Boys on the brink’ series by Jamie Deacon but I am not so sure if all of the books are about Davey and Adam. I think the other books are about other guys who are falling in love. But I will put those books on my list too.

If you are looking for a cute and short book that will lift your mood, this is the one. Especially if you also loved the Heartstopper series.
