After

Based on the popular book series written by Anna Todd, this is the first movie of this series. Tessa is finally going to college, where she meets her new roommate. One of the friends of her roommate is Hardin. Hardin is a bad boy and he is definitely not the ‘perfect’ guy. Tessa has a boyfriend in high school but she can’t look at Hardin and he is bringing out the worst in her. This is not going to end well.

Review

I don’t do this very often but I didn’t finish this movie. It was just terrible. I read the book a while ago and it was fine. In the books, there is a lot of chemistry (mostly sexual) between Tessa and Hardin and there is also a lot of sex. I was missing that in this movie. The movie wasn’t also following the book either. I was missing a couple of things.

The biggest reason why I didn’t finish watching this movie is because of the actor Hero, who plays Hardin. His acting is really terrible. Not just bad, but really terrible. Josephine who plays Tessa is a lot better at acting and I think she is a combination of ChloĆ« Grace Moretz and her sister Katherine Langford.

I wished they would have stuck to the books and didn’t cut out the most important things. The relationship between Hardin and Tessa is mostly just sex, they don’t talk a lot. Not in the books. So if you cut out those parts, there is nothing left to film.

I got so bored that I decided to skip some parts during the movie (with the 10 sec forward Netflix button) and I realized how they barely talk in the movie. There are parts where you can skip forward for minutes without missing any text. I think that is another reason why this movie was just boring and terrible.
