Sometimes you have one of those days that you just feel bad and that is okay. Take your time and feel those emotions. It is pretty normal to feel like that. Everyone has one of those bad days. But if you stay in that mood and you are ready to feel better again then this blog post is for you. These are simple tips to feel a little bit better. These tips are from my own experiences, so not everything may work for you too. But try to find out and maybe you find something else that will work for you.
Tips to feel a little bit better when you are having a bad day
Clean up
I am a pretty messy person, but I also noticed that I am not feeling great when my place is a mess. You can tell how I am feeling that day, just by looking at my stuff. Is it messy, I am not in a great mood. If everything is tidy and clean, I am feeling great. First of all, cleaning up is therapeutic in some way. But when my place is tidy, my mind is less chaotic. So turn on your favourite music and clean everything up.
Get dressed
When I dress up and wear my favourite clothes, I feel more confident and just better in general. When I am not feeling great, I wear a lot of comfy clothes. This is nice of course, but it is not making me feel confident. So wear your favourite jeans and top or wear your favourite dress and hopefully, you can already notice the difference. Wear something that makes you feel confident, powerful and sexy.
Eat your favourite foods
My mind is always telling me I should eat healthily, but honestly, I don’t want to do that when I am feeling bad. So go to the supermarket and buy your favourite items. I don’t care what it is. I am not telling you to overeat and use food to feel better (emotional eater). I am just telling you, that it is okay to eat whatever you like on some days. Maybe you want to eat a pizza, buy a pizza. Sometimes when I feel bad, I just want to eat paprika and tomatoes (my favourite veggies) and drink orange juice. It depends on the moment what I want to eat. It is okay to treat yourself to something nice now and then.
Write
Are you mentally struggling? I know how you are feeling. One way I deal with those moods and thoughts is to write whatever I want to write about. I just get a notebook and just start writing. I don’t overthink this. That is my first tip. It doesn’t have to be and look perfect on paper. It is just about you writing down your feelings and thoughts. I also like to do this when I am overthinking before bedtime. It helps me to fall asleep a lot faster. The next day, I check what I wrote that night before, just to see if I can use something for my self-improvement. The other day, I wrote about how I was putting too much pressure on myself. The next day when I was reading that, I decided to stop putting so much pressure on myself.
Drink enough water
Make sure you drink enough water too. It is one of the things you can’t live without and if you want to feel better, you should first focus on yourself and feeling better before you do something else. Buy a reusable water bottle and take it everywhere you go. Try to drink at least 2 liters every single day. When you don’t drink enough, you can get a headache or feel a little foggy.
Do something you like to do
I would recommend this in any situation, but I also wanted to mention it here. But life is short and you should enjoy it. You deserve that. So pick one thing you like to do and do that. I would recommend doing this every single day, no matter how good or bad you are feeling. So maybe you are now in the mood to bake something, well bake something. Or maybe you want to read a book, then you should read a book! Do something that sparks joy for you.
