The viscount who loved

The second book of the Bridgerton series is not about Daphne anymore. It all focuses on her older brother Anthony. Anthony is the eldest Bridgerton brother and he took over the important responsibilities after his dad died when Anthony was just 18 years old. His dad was only 38 and now Anthony believes he will not get older than his dad, which means he has only 9 years to go. He must find a wife and get children. Before he even meets the single girls/women, he already knows he wants to go for Edwina Sheffield, because she is the diamond of the season.

Review

After watching the first season of the Bridgerton series on Netflix, I knew I had to read the books. And now I just finished reading book two, just in time for season 2 of the series that will come out hopefully very soon.
I have to admit, I wasn’t looking forward to reading the second book. First of all, I didn’t like Anthony in the series. He was a rake and he was seeing someone, I was also afraid that only the first book would be amazing and I wouldn’t like the rest of the books.

Well, I was wrong. I loved this book. I think I even loved this story even more than Daphne and Simon’s story. The tension between Anthony and Kate is incredible. Anthony is trying to ignore his thoughts and feelings, but that is pretty hard. But seriously, when season 2 comes out on Netflix I am going to binge watch it immediately. This story was funny and pretty romantic. And hopefully, season 2 will be just as good as the book.

Anthony does want a wife, but he doesn’t want to marry someone that he will fall in love with. So he picks Edwina. She is the diamond of the season, which means she is pretty. But even though Anthony thinks she is pretty, he can already tell he will never love her. Which makes her a perfect future wife. He does want to have kids because he wants to have an heir before he dies. He thinks he will die young, just like his uncle and dad. And love would make everything complicated.

But of course, things happen and not everything is according to plan. Which makes this story even better. I loved lady wisthledown columns too and I think every book will give you a hint of who she is. Because there was a hint at the end of this book. I still have a name on my mind. But who knows! I can’t wait to find out who she is. But I still have many books to go and I think I will find out at the end of the series.

Anyway, if you loved the series, try to read the books too. The first season was pretty similar to the first book and hopefully, they do a great job on season 2. Although I believe they already filmed everything. This book was so good and I can recommend it to everyone who loves to read about romance.
