The lazy days of summer are winding down, and the time has come to bid farewell to leisurely vacations and embrace the routine of school or work once again. Transitioning from the carefree spirit of summer to the structured demands of academics or the professional world can be a daunting task. But fear not! This will help your body and mind adapt to the upcoming changes and prevent the shock of suddenly having to wake up early. Make sure you are getting used to waking up early again before school or work starts again. If you are going back to school, buy the supplies you need. Don´t do everything last-minute.

2. Organize and Plan Ahead: Before you dive back in, take a moment to get organized. Set up your workspace, gather necessary materials, and make a to-do list to prioritize tasks for the first few days. Having a clear plan will help you hit the ground running and reduce the overwhelm. And stay organized during the rest of the year. I made the mistake to not to stay organized and that defintely had effect on my school work, since then I am trying to stay organized as possible.

3. Reflect and Set Goals: Use this transition as an opportunity to reflect on what you want to achieve during the upcoming months. Set realistic goals for both your personal and professional growth. Having a sense of purpose can energize you and make the return more meaningful. Write down what you want to accomplish each day, week or month. 

4. Update Your Mindset: Shift your mindset from vacation mode to work or study mode. Remind yourself of the benefits and opportunities that lie ahead. Focus on the positive aspects, like reconnecting with friends or colleagues, learning new things, and achieving your goals. Where your attention goes, your energy flows. Meaning, if you are always focused on problems, you will see more problems. If you are more focused on positive things in life, your life will be easier. You will be more relaxed.

5. Stay Flexible: Remember that transitioning takes time. Be patient with yourself as you readjust to the demands of your routine. Embrace the changes and challenges with a flexible attitude, as setbacks and surprises are a natural part of the process. Sometimes things happen, don’t resist it. People like their comfort zone and when something new happens, they get frustrated. So stay calm.

6. Maintain Healthy Habits: During the holidays, routines can sometimes take a backseat. As you return to your regular schedule, prioritize healthy habits such as balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate sleep. These habits will provide the physical and mental stamina needed for a successful return. Create a healthy morning routine that will keep your energy and mood high all day and create an evening routine that will help you to fall asleep easily.

This will help you maintain a sense of control over your workload. Don’t spend too much time on your phone. Putting your phone away will be a life saver, because suddenly you realize how much time you spent on that thing.

Share your experiences, listen to others, and lean on your support network to navigate any challenges that arise. Make sure, you make time to relax and chill.

10. Celebrate Small Wins: Give yourself credit for the small achievements as you settle back into your routine. We are always so focused on achieving goals and when we achieve a goal, we want more and more. But we are not happy with the goal we just achieved. So everytime you achieve something, celebrate it. You don’t have to throw a whole party for every single goal, but say to yourself that you did a great job and that you are proud of yourself.
