Sunrise on the coast

Sophie just lost her mother after a long battle against cancer, but now she has to make decisions. Her mother’s house is a rented house and Sophie’s name is not on it. So she has to move out soon. Aunty suggests she should take a vacation first before she comes back and finds a house and job. She goes to Tenerife and after a day, she can already see herself living her. After a few days, she finds out that the person who lives in a beautiful needs help. She applies for the job and gets it immediately. The owner of the Villa needs a hip replacement and she has to take care of him. It is just for three months, but that should be enough to figure everything out. Then she meets Alejandro, Hugo’s nephew.

Review

I found this book online, it was cheap and I bought it. The cover looked like it was going to be the perfect book for me. Because I was cold and the cover suggested it was going to be a summer read. Exactly what I needed. I needed to stop thinking about this cold weather and daydream about summer again.

And while I had no idea who the author was, that absolutely did not bother me. Because this book was exactly what I wanted and expected. It made me daydream about a beautiful island with sunny weather and add a mysterious guy to the story and a little bit of romance. Suddenly I wasn’t feeling cold anymore.

I also think I liked this book because I could relate to the main character. She was 33 years old but she suddenly realizes she had to start a new life on her own. In the last couple of years, she has been taking care of her dying mother. That part wasn’t relatable. But I am also in the process of starting a new life, just like Sophie was doing. She suddenly has to think about what she really wanted, what kind of job she wanted and where she wanted to live. She now had time to build relationships and all that. It shows that it is never too late to start a new life and go after the things you like and want.

To be honest, I don’t have a single thing that I did not like about this book. The dog, Paco, was cute and protective of Sophie, which was beautiful. Everyone cared about each other in that area. Reminds me a little bit of Stars Hollow/Gilmore Girls. Everyone is taking care of each other in a small community.
But of course, mostly I bought this book for romance because it puts me in a good mood. And this love story did not let me down at all. I really liked it. I like the way they met and how they fell in love that fast. It makes me want to move to an island and fall in love with a guy too.
