In Richard says goodbye (The Professor), you follow the life of Richard, who is a professor and he just heard that he has cancer. Unfortunately, the doctors can’t cure him anymore and Richard decides he doesn’t want to get chemo. That means that he only has 6 months to live. In the last months of his life, he doesn’t give a shit about anything anymore. He does whatever he wants.

Johnny Depp is probably one of my favorite actors of all time. And it was interesting to see him playing a very serious role this time. Richard has cancer. And without treatment, he has only 6 more months. Since the moment he heard the news, he changed as a person. He is now more like ‘Yolo’. He doesn’t care anymore what other people really think of him. But I wondered how he was before he got the news. Was he very serious? Or maybe he was funny? All I know that he has changed after hearing the news. Some people were looking at him like he was crazy. I couldn’t believe that he was okay that his wife was cheating.
Johnny Depp is an incredible actor and he did an amazing job in this movie. It wasn’t a movie I normally would like. It was a slow movie and of course, he did some ‘crazy’ things but also thing major (except cancer) happened. It is hard to explain but you have those slow movies where nothing major happened. And these movies always win awards and I never get why. But I guess it is not my cup of tea. I remembered watching ‘Boyhood’ and got really bored because nothing happened. Of course, there is a message behind it in those movies but I still get bored. I got the same feeling during this movie but for once I watched the whole movie.
I am really happy that I did. I think this has a great message. We all exist but we are not really living. We should enjoy our lives and have fun. That was Richard showing us in this movie. Maybe a little extreme at some points (Cheating etc.) but you never know when you are going to die.
