Since the end of February, we are dealing with the corona pandemic and it is not really fun. You are spending so much more time at home and maybe even alone. That can take a toll on your mental health. There is still no official vaccine and we have no idea when we can go back to our ‘normal’ lives again.
How to stay positive during the corona crisis
Accept it
If you can’t change it, don’t waste your energy and accept it. There are a couple of things that we can’t change: the weather, death, and paying taxes. But we can’t also change the world and let the corona disappear. If that was possible, someone had done it already. So try to accept it.
Don’t watch or read the news too often
It will drive you crazy. Check the news once or twice a day and let it go. I remember at the beginning of this pandemic, I was constantly checking the news for more information and it drove me crazy. It was absolutely not good for my mental health. I felt more anxious and was super tired. If you really care about your mental health, don’t do this.
Focus on the things you like
And maybe you have a goal you want to achieve. Maybe you want to start your own business or blog. This is the time for it. Put all of your energy into your dreams instead of the corona. You finally have something to do and that alone will make you feel better.
Meditation
Meditation can help when you are feeling anxious and restless. Take a few minutes for yourself every single day and try to calm the noise inside your head. It can be hard in the beginning, but it will be worth it. Meditation is always a good idea, no matter how you are feeling.
Try new things
Doing the exact same thing every single day is kind of boring. So don’t do that. Maybe this is the time to try new things. Maybe you want to play the guitar, or maybe you want to more books or you want to start exercising. Even trying new recipes can be a lot of fun! Make a list you want to do (corona proof obviously) and have fun with it.
Talk to your friends
You are not the only one who is struggling right now. So maybe it is time to call your friend and talk to them. Have pizza together and listen to each other. Motivate and help each other. We are in this together. And even one night with your best friend can cheer you up. We are social people (some more than others) but we all need our friends/family. Otherwise, we feel lonely.
How do you stay positive at this moment?
Lovely post. Indeed we need to stick to what we love the most in especially these days. And finding yourself a new hobby or activities can at least do a bit shifting from your worries.
