How to have fun every single day

Sometimes I just look around me and look at what other people do and listen to what they say. One thing I have noticed is that most of those people are always looking forward to the weekend. That got me thinking. Yes, we have more time to do fun things on our days off. But in my opinion, every day should be a fun day. I know from my personal experience it is so easy to fall into this simple routine that everyone seems to follow. You wake up, go to work, come back home from work, have dinner and watch TV. Every night, on my ride home, I see all those people already closing the curtains at 7 and watching TV.

If you are like me, you are probably okay with one night sitting in front of your TV, but that gets boring pretty fast. Sometimes we forget to live on work/schooldays too. We are just surviving and waiting for the weekend to come. But let’s get out of that (boring) routine and let’s start living a little. This is how to have fun every single day. Each new day is a gift.

How to have fun every single day

  1. Have fun at work.
The majority of the day we spend at work/school. Hopefully, you already have a job that you love, and that brings you joy. That makes your day a lot easier and more fun. But even when you don’t like your job or you just have one of those days, there are many ways to brighten up your workday. Make your favourite meal (or just buy it) in the morning and bring it to work. I like to work with music in the background. If that doesn’t bother you, put on your favourite music. Following a different routine can also help to get out of that rut. Go out for a walk during a break. Have fun with your colleagues. It’s the little moments that will keep you going. And you can easily create fun little moments that can make you smile for the rest of the day.

  2. Try new things
Life can get pretty boring if you always do the same things over and over again. But there are so many things you could still try. Maybe you can try a new recipe. Learn something new, maybe a language. Learn how to play an instrument. Maybe try a new sport you might like. Maybe you want to improve your baking skills. Or just simply learn a fun TikTok dance. The point is just to have fun.
  3. Stop doing the same things every single day
Doing the same things after work (like watching TV every night) gets pretty boring very easily. But it is so easy to switch up your routines. You just have to do it. Create fun evenings, maybe organize dinner parties, movie nights, go to a museum, or board game nights. Or maybe you just want to have a night to yourself and take a hot bath. There are so many things you could do. This way you also have something to look forward to during the day. Doing something new each night keeps your life more interesting and more fun. Because let’s be honest, watching Netflix again is not something you look forward to if you do it every night. I still enjoy watching Netflix sometimes, but I stopped doing it every night.

  4. Start chasing your dreams
Everyone has dreams and if you hate your job, maybe the evenings are just perfect to start chasing them. Just take the first step. If it’s really your dream, it brings you more energy and it will make you feel good. Maybe you want to write a book. Just write a few words after work. Maybe your life will turn around if you actually finished that book. Or maybe you want to start a different business or you have travel plans. Start working on it. A lot of people will say that they are waiting for the perfect moment. But the perfect moment is to start now. Don’t be scared. You will regret it if you never take the jump
  5. Go out
Of course, you can stay at home. There is nothing wrong with that. But even on workdays, there are tons of things you could do. Maybe there is a concert tonight. Look up the artist and maybe you will discover new great music. Go out with your friends, go to the cinema. Go out for a walk through the park. Read a book at the park. The options are really endless, especially when you live in a city. If nobody wants to join you, there are a lot of things you can still do. Maybe you can even meet new people, who want to hang out with you.

You are the creator of your own life. If are bored with your own life, the only one who can change it, is you. So get up and do something else.
