Two more days left in 2022. Are you ready for the New Year or are you still thinking of new goals for 2023? Everyone sees the new year as a new beginning and a new beginning is great to start working on new goals and yourself. But maybe you don’t have any goals for 2023 yet. Don’t worry, you have come to the right place! I made a long list of habits you can implement into your own life. And no, you don’t have to do all of those things. You pick the ones you want to improve.
Good habits for 2023
Drink enough water. Staying hydrated is extremely important. It is better for your health and you are able to focus better.
Exercise more. Very cliché, but exercising is really good for you. It releases feel-good hormones and it is very healthy. And you don’t have to go to the gym every day. Just a 30-minute walk is good!
Read more. Reading has a lot of benefits and it helps you to relax after a long day of work. There are tons of genres, you will probably find one you will like.
Clean daily. If you clean a little bit every single day, you don’t have to do everything all at once on the weekends. You will have a clean house every day and you have more time on the weekends.
Eat more veggies and fruit. Eat before you go to the supermarket, so you don’t buy anything that is not on your grocery list.
Spend less time on social media. I don’t have a problem with social media and I think it has a lot of benefits. The problem is spending too much time on it. Reduce your screen time and you will have more time for other things too.
Spend more time with positive people. Other people can influence your mood, so why not spend more time around happy and positive people? This can help you to see things from a more positive side too. It is a win-win situation. You spend time with friends and you will feel better too.
Meditate. Meditation has a lot of benefits, but it can definitely help you to stop overthinking everything and be more in control of your own emotions.
Stop smoking. Do you still smoke, stop doing it! Maybe not easy, but if you stop you will save more money and it is better for your health.
Getting a stronger body. Some people want to lose body fat or even gain weight, but I like to think of it as making your body stronger (and healthier).
Learn a new language. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn Spanish, Italian, or French.
Buy less. We always want to buy more and more, but it is better for your bank account and the climate to buy less. Stop buying the things you don’t need.
Taking care of your body, hair, and nails. Eating healthy is the first step. The second step is to use products to improve the quality of your hair, nails, and skin.
Getting enough sleep every night. Are you not getting enough sleep each night? It is time to change that. Your body and brain need to rest. Find a relaxing evening routine that works for you, so you can have the best night of sleep. I prefer to read before going to sleep because it helps me to relax and sleep deeply.
Play more board games with friends/family. What is better to invite your friends for a game night with snacks? You will have a lot of fun and you spend time with your friends.
Declutter. Go through your stuff and see what you are still using and what is not. Decide if you want to donate it or sell it.
Use sunscreen each day. Even on dark winter days, the sun can reach your skin. Make putting sunscreen on your face and neck a part of your beauty routine in the morning.
Meal planning. Do you have no idea what to eat each night? Start with weekly meal planning. You sit down once a week and make a list of meals you want to eat. This way you also know immediately what you need to buy and when.
Drink less alcohol or stop completely. Drinking alcohol is normalized in our society, but ask yourself if you still want to drink it or if are you drinking it because your friends do it too.
Create the perfect morning/evening routine. This might take time, but try every week something different until your morning/evening routine feels good to you. I like to put some music on in the morning and dance. I like to start and end my day without my phone.
Stop gossiping. Gossiping is toxic energy. Talking about other people behind their backs is not cool and it just shows you’re insecure.
Make a gratitude list. Write down the things you are grateful for. This can help with forming a more positive attitude toward life.
Learn to play an instrument. Always wanted to learn how to play the piano or the ukelele? Now is the time to buy an instrument and practice it every day.
Stop comparing yourself to others. It is very easy to compare yourself these days with other people, but remember that one photo on Instagram does not show their reality. Sometimes they photoshop or fake a smile.
Taking more time for yourself. You don’t always have to work 24/7. You are allowed to take some time for yourself and to relax.
Find a new job. Looking for a new challenge or don’t you like your current job? Find something that fits your interest. Maybe you can go back to school if you want.
Give compliments. It is always nice to receive a compliment. So why not make someone else happy with a compliment?
Stretch your body. Are you sitting down all day long? It is time to stretch your body and keep your body flexible. Your future you would be very grateful.
Simplify your life. Look at your life and ask yourself how you can simplify it. Do you need to do all of those things on your to-do list? Do you really need 100 hobbies?
Be nice to others. It does not cost money to be nice to other people. So no matter their emotional state, always be nice. I also believe in karma. So be good to others.
