Get a life, Chloe Brown
Chloe is always in pain, no matter what she does. That is because she has Fibromyalgia. But she got used to it, sort off. Now she lives on her own and she doesn’t like her superintendent. But one day, Chloe decided to climb a tree to rescue a cat and Red had to help her. Since that moment, Chloe decided that Red is the perfect guy to help her with her ‘Get a life’ list. It’s been years when she took risks and did something adventurous.
Review
I’ve heard so many people talking about the Brown sisters’ book series, so I decided to read them too. The first one is Get a life, Chloe Brown. But I am not sure if my expectations were too high or not my cup of tea, but I didn’t like it that much. I mean, it was not terrible and I still finished the book. But it wasn’t my favourite. Luckily, there are three books in this book series and perhaps I will like the other ones. I’ve heard some people liked the first book more than the other and some people liked the others more than the first one. I hope I am one of those people who will like the rest of this series.
Maybe I didn’t like this book that much because it was not really relatable? The first part was mostly about her and her fibro. It is interesting to read about it because I know someone with fibro too, but I had absolutely no idea that they are always in pain. I guess she is hiding it as well, just like Chloe does in this book. But I am healthy and maybe I couldn’t relate?
On the other hand, we are out of lockdown and I can go everywhere I want to go, but I always stay in my own comfort zone. I also have a list of things I want to do, just like Chloe. I also have this feeling that I have to get a life. Of course, her situation is different, but we both stay in our comfort zone. Staying in our comfort zone is so much easier and it feels safe.
If you are also a reader, you will probably know that feeling when you love a book. Every time I read a (romance) book and I love it, I get those very happy feelings. I didn’t get those feelings from this book. So that is why I am also disappointed. But no matter what, I am going to read the other books too and see if they will give me those feelings.
Things I liked about this book, is that it inspired me to get a life too. Life is too short to stay in our safe little comfort zones. We should do the things we want to do and ignore our fears.
