Nora is a literary agent and a sister to Libby. Libby is pregnant and wants to go on a trip before her baby comes and she really wants to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for a month. Sunshine Falls is the little town in the books of Dusty, a bestseller author and one of Nora’s clients. And now Nora is going to experience Sunshine falls for herself. Her sister Libby has made a to-do list with specific things you do as the main character of your own life; helping a store in need, going on dates with locals and skinny dipping.
But running into Charlie Lastra, a book editor from New York, is a surprise. Not a good one, because they have met several times in New York and it was never enjoyable.

Review

A while ago, I’ve read ‘Beach read’ by Emily Henry and not too long after that I bought ‘Book lovers’ and ‘People we meet on vacation’. I am going to be totally honest with you and say that Emily Henry is not my favourite author. I know she is loved by many and I am definitely not saying I don’t like her books at all. But when I read romance books, I want to get that happy feeling and I don’t feel anything when I read Emily’s books, which is a shame because the book covers are pretty. But since I already bought ‘people we meet on vacation’, I am still going to read that one soon and find out if I will like that one.

These days everyone seems to talk about two authors and one of them is Emily Henry I wish I could say I liked her books too. But there will always be a book or author that you don’t like as much as the rest of the book world. Which can be a sad thing, but it can also be a good thing. In the last couple of months, I have read the most amazing romance book. I liked most of them honestly and my wishlist was growing. Now I found an author who is not going to be one of my favourites. It feels sad, but I think it is better for my bank account.

So while I thought this book didn’t do anything for me, there were a few things I liked. It is an enemy to lovers’ trope. I kind of like that. Although, I have to admit I have a lot of favourite romance kinds of tropes. I liked the little to-do list Libby made for their vacation. I like a good to-do list with fun activities, gives me the main character vibes.
And just a few sentences also gave me Stars Hollow (from Gilmore Girls) vibes, because they also had town meetings and all of that. Town meetings were my favourite part of Gilmore Girls.
And some parts between Charlie and Nora were pretty good too. As I said, it wasn’t all bad. I just was not feeling it, I guess. And when I read a book, I want to feel their happiness and love.

I still have one Emily Henry book to go and I am going to try to read it soon. If I will like that one, I will try one of her other books in the future. If not, then I guess I really found the author whose work is not meant for me, even though I like the genre.
