Book haul August 2020

I’ve decided to buy new books every single month at an online store here in the Netherlands. This time I decided to buy new English books and not to buy any books in my own language. Sometimes there will never be a translation of a certain book or it can take years before they translate it. On my wishlist, I had a couple of English books and I decided to order this. This is my book haul August 2020.

Of course, I am also going to place reviews of these books here on my blog. So, check my blog regularly if you don’t want to miss them.

Breaking the habit of being yourself – Dr. Joe Dispenza

I am into the law of attraction (everyone should because it applies to everyone, just like gravity.) but this time I decided to buy a book that can help you manifest your dreams. Because sometimes you have to change a couple of things about yourself if you want to manifest those dreams. Since I started to watch the Law of attraction videos on YouTube, I came across a video of Dr. Joe Dispenza. And now I decided to buy one of his books.

It only happens in the movies – Holly Bourne

The greatest love story ever told doesn’t feature kissing in the snow or racing to airports. It features pain and confusion and hope and wonder and a ban on cheesy cliches. Oh, and zombies…YA star Holly Bourne tackles real love in this hugely funny and poignant novel.

This book was on my wishlist for years. Not really sure why I didn’t buy it in all of those years. But finally, I decided to buy it.

Little women – Louise May Alcott

Grown-up Meg, tomboyish Jo, timid Beth, and precocious Amy. The four March sisters couldn’t be more different. But with their father away at war, and their mother working to support the family, they have to rely on one another. Whether they’re putting on a play, forming a secret society, or celebrating Christmas, there’s one thing they can’t help wondering: Will Father return home safely?

There is a movie and a series about this book, I believe. I haven’t seen it because I really wanted to read the book first. But when I ordered this book, I had absolutely no idea how big this book was. Normally, I read books of 300-400 pages. But this one has over 800 pages. So this is definitely going to be a challenge for me.

The boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

Samiah Brooks never thought she would be ‘that’ girl. But a live tweet of a horrific date reveals the painful truth: she’s been catfished by her three-timing jerk of a boyfriend. Suddenly Samiah – along with the two other ‘girlfriends’, London and Taylor – have gone viral. Now the three new besties are making a six-month pact: no men, no dating, just time to focus on themselves. This means Samiah can finally focus on her exciting career in app development – so having the deliciously sexy and distracting Daniel Collins walk into her office definitely isn’t part of her plan… But is Daniel really boyfriend material – or is he simply too good to be true?

I saw this book everywhere on Bookstagram and those people influenced me to buy this book. And I really can’t wait to read it. Especially because the back of this book says it is about no boyfriends/relationships but the title of this book is ‘The boyfriend project.’ So I am a little bit confused but at the same time, I can’t wait to find out.
