4 things you can’t change + how to accept it

There are people who just always accept the situation as it is and there are people who like to be in control and change a certain situation. You are the creator of your own life, but there will be situations in your life you can’t change. These are the 4 things you can’t change and I also give you tips on how you can accept the situation and how to let go of it.

4 things you can’t change

Other people
When someone is behaving in a certain way and we don’t like it, we want to try to change someone. Maybe that someone has an addiction or maybe it is just something little. The thing is you can’t change them. People can only change when they want to and not because other people want to change them. They will probably cause more problems too. You can only control the way you react and feel.

The weather
People like to talk about the weather and they also like to complain about it. In the summer it is too hot, in the winter it is too cold. Then they are complaining it is not raining enough, and one moment later they are complaining it is always raining. t is never good enough. But what if you just accept it? You can complain it is raining again, but honestly what is the point of that? It is not like your complaining will suddenly stop the rain. It is also just a waste of energy. You can better use that energy for something else, to follow your dream perhaps.

What other people think about us
Another waste of energy is caring about other people’s opinions. I think it is impossible that everyone will like you, so stop trying so hard. The only opinion that really matters is your own. If you are proud of yourself and you like your own life, then don’t change. No matter what other people are saying. And to be honest, most people are always too busy with themselves. If you are caring about their opinions, what do you think they are doing? They are also doing the same thing!

Certain situations
Things are happening all the time and I do agree that when you feel good, you will attract more good things. When you have a bad morning, the rest of the day is even worse. I definitely believe in manifesting. But that does not mean that certain situations will never happen to those people who are truly happy. Everyone can get stuck in traffic, or be late for something and people will still die eventually. But when you are stuck in traffic, you probably can’t change it unless you can take a different route to work.

How to accept the things you can’t change?

You just simply have to let go. In every Law of Attraction and self-help book, they mention you have to let go. What does that mean? It means, you just accept the situation as it is. If you can’t change someone, just accept the person for who she/he is. If it is raining all day, just accept it. Go outside, and use an umbrella or a raincoat. This is something you practice, but it will get easier.

When I was little, I was taught that rain was terrible weather. Every time it was raining, everyone was asking for beautiful weather (sunny days), but who decided that rain is a bad thing? We’ve been taught that certain things are bad and others are good, but is that really the truth? Being stuck in traffic is something everyone calls a bad thing, but I see it differently. I see it as an opportunity to read (on the bus), listen to music, or just take a deep breath in.

Tips to accept the situation:
– Use a different perspective.
– Meditation can help with accepting the situation as it is
– Find something good in every situation
– Stay calm no matter what. It is not worth it to stress about it. We’re on a floating rock
