Happy summer everyone! That means summer vacation is around the corner too for a lot of people. But even when you are not taking any days off from work this summer, there are tons of things you can still do on your day off. These are 100 things you can do this summer.

  1. Take a beach vacation. Personally, I love the beach. The sound of the waves is so calming.
  2. Go hiking in the mountains. Or just go out for a long walk. Bring food and drinks with you and just enjoy nature.
  3. Have a picnic in the park. Why would you sit inside to have your dinner/lunch? Call a friend and eat at the park.
  4. Explore a new city. Maybe a short trip abroad for a few days.
  5. Redecorate your garden or balcony. Use Pinterest for inspiration.
  6. Learn to surf. It is always good to learn new things.
  7. Go camping under the stars. If you have a garden or a balcony, you can totally do this. But make sure the mosquitos stay away from you.
  8. Take a road trip with friends. All you need is music, food, and your friends.
  9. Visit a water park. This is not only fun when you have or are a kid.
  10. Try a new water sport like kayaking or paddleboarding. Paddleboarding is a nice way to be on the water without getting wet (hopefully)
  11. Have a BBQ party with friends and family. Let everyone bring some food and drinks and just have fun.
  12. Go on a bike ride. Bring food/drinks and maybe your phone in case you get lost.
  13. Attend a music festival. There are tons of festivals during the summer and some of them are free.
  14. Volunteer for a local charity. Always good to help other people out.
  15. Learn to cook a new dish. Maybe you will find something that you really like.
  16. Go on a photography adventure. You don’t have to own an expensive camera. A lot of phones have great cameras these days.
  17. Have a movie night under the stars. Perfect on the weekends. Make/buy some popcorn and just relax.
  18. Take a yoga class outdoors. Yoga has a lot of benefits and you will become stronger and more flexible.
  19. Visit a museum or art gallery. Sometimes it rains during the summer, but that does not mean you can’t do anything at all.
  20. Learn to play a musical instrument. Start to play the ukelele or the keyboard. There are a lot of tutorials online.
  21. Read a book. Create a beautiful reading spot in your garden or on your balcony and just enjoy your book.
  22. Explore a local farmer’s market. Get some fresh food and drinks. Local food is always better than straight from the supermarket.
  23. Spend the afternoon on a boat. Maybe you or someone you know owns a boat. 
  24. Try rock climbing. In case you are feeling more adventurous. 
  25. Take a dance class. It is a fun way of exercising.
  26. Host a summer-themed party. Create a dress code, and make snacks that match your theme.
  27. Learn to paint or draw. It is time to get creative and maybe you discover you are actually good at this.
  28. Attend an outdoor concert or live performance. Some of the concerts are free or pretty cheap. But outdoor concerts have a different but cool vibe.
  29. Have a DIY project day. Maybe you found a DIY on Pinterest that you wanted to make.
  30. Go on a fishing trip. If you have a license (depending on where you live) of course.
  31. Start a journal or blog. Bullet journals are still cool and you can start a blog for free without owning a domain.
  32. Take a cooking or baking class. Experiment and give the pie you are making a little summer twist.
  33. Visit a botanical garden. Those gardens are so pretty and the perfect place to take Instagram photos
  34. Have a game night with friends. Play twister when you want to have a good laugh or beat everyone with Monopoly
  35. Learn a new language. Duolingo is free and it makes it so easy to start learning a new language.
  36. Go stargazing. Maybe you will see a shooting star.
  37. Take a pottery or ceramics class. Very trendy these days and you can make the most fantastic things.
  38. Go strawberry picking at a local farm. Fresh fruit is always the best, especially without the chemicals a lot of other farms use.
  39. Explore a nearby national park. Explore the area.
  40. Take a scenic hot-air balloon ride. A beautiful view right before sunset.
  41. Have a beach bonfire and roast marshmallows. Or just in your own garden.
  42. Reinvent yourself. A little bit of self-care and self-love is never a bad idea. Become the person you’ve always wanted to be.
  43. Learn to meditate. Meditations have tons of benefits for everyone.
  44. Take a scenic helicopter tour. It might cost a lot of money, but maybe it will be worth it.

  57. Start working on your dreams. Whether you’ve always wanted to write a book or start a whole new career. It is never too late. But you have to start now.

  66. Go to the cinema. Maybe you have the whole cinema to yourself. It happened to me a few times.
  67. Have a (beach) volleyball tournament with friends. A fun way to stay active.
  68. Buy new plants for your home or garden. Plants make your life better.
  69. Take a cooking class focused on a specific cuisine. Maybe you want to learn how to make pasta or pizza from scratch.
  70. Run a marathon. But not without training obviously.
  71. Go thrift shopping. Thrift shopping is always fun. You can find the most amazing items for almost nothing.
  72. Learn to make homemade jewelry. Makes it more special to wear them. Or maybe you can start selling them too.
  73. Start a YouTube channel. You can easily film with your own phone. Film your days or share your passions.
  74. Visit a local historical site or landmark. If you are interested in history.
  75. Try geocaching and go on a treasure hunt. This is not only for kids but also for adults.
  76. Wake up early to see the sunrise in a beautiful spot. And then maybe go back to bed or have a relaxing day. The sun comes up pretty early.

  79. Go on a zip-lining adventure. This is super fun to do

  82. Walk around in the city. This is something I like to do. Just discovering new places and looking at other people. The vibe in the city during the summer is amazing.
  83. Make a summer playlist on Spotify. Find new great songs and add them to your lists.
  84. Grow your own herb garden. Or maybe start a veggie garden. Fresh food is the best.
  85. Take a nap in a hammock and just relax.
  86. Visit a local science center or planetarium. Very interesting and maybe you learn something too
  87. Go on a treasure hunt at a flea market or antique fair. Flea markets sound boring, but sometimes you can find the best stuff there.
  88. Go a week without screens. Maybe a little bit extreme for some people, but suddenly you realize how much time you are wasting on your phones/Netflix. And you have more time to do other fun things.
  89. Do a random act of kindness. Pay for a stranger’s coffee or just help people.
  90. Play minigolf. Always fun and something you can do with kids.
  91. Sleep in a cabin in the woods. And don’t watch horror movies about people staying in a cabin in the woods.
  92. Learn to make homemade jam or preserves. Perfect when you have leftover strawberries.
  93. Go to a drive-in movie. It is a fun way to watch movies. Perfect for a first date.
  94. Go backpacking with a friend. Go to your favorite cities and have fun.

  96. Learn to make homemade natural beauty products. Nothing better than using natural products for your skin.
  97. Give yourself a makeover. New haircut, experiment with make-up and wear new clothes
