Skater Girl
Prerna lives in a small town in India with her parents and her little brother. When you are a younger girl like Prerna they expect you to get married. But Prerna is nothing like the other girls. When Jessica comes to town she learns about skateboarding. At first, she is scared to stand on a skateboard but soon she realizes how much she loves it. But not everyone likes it including her father, so she has to keep it a secret.
Review
I was waiting for this movie because it sounded really great. I love girlpower and this movie definitely has girlpower. Prerna (a name that means inspiration) is not doing the things she should be doing like getting married at a young age. No she is following heart and what makes her happy. We can definitely learn that from this movie. We all should follow our hearts and passions. Not doing what our parents or society is expecting from us.
This is a very uplifting movie. Jessica comes to this small town in India and then she starts helping those kids and making them happy with their own skateboards. And their look on their faces when they all get a skateboard is just priceless. They are so happy with it. We in the western world can learn from that too. We live in a fast world and we want new things all the time. But do we appreciate the things we have? I can speak for myself and say I am not always grateful for the things I already have.
Acting was great. All of the kids were amazing and I think the girl who plays Prerna was really good. I really enjoyed it. The plot was simple but still great. I mean, I’ve learned at least two things from this movie. This is a really inspiring movie that you can watch with the whole family. It has a great message to never give up and always follow your dreams, no matter what. This is the kind of movie we all need! We need more movies like these that are uplifting and inspiring.
