This year, a lot of people have been working from home. At first, it may sound awesome. You can sleep a little longer and everything is in reach. You can watch Netflix while you are working or look in your fridge for more food. But all that is not really making you more productive. In this blog, I will give you a couple of tips on how to be more productive.
Wake up early
Waking up earlier doesn’t just mean that you can do more things in a day. But there is also another reason why I think it is important to wake up a little bit early every single day. I feel more productive when I wake up early. If I wake up at 7 instead of 8 on a Saturday, I automatically do more things.
Take breaks
If you want to stay focused, you have to take breaks. Your brain needs a break every now and then. I know there is this technique called POMODORO and it is super popular. It basically means that you work for 25 minutes and then you take a break for 5 minutes. Working for 25 minutes sounds better than working for 2 hours without a break.
Create a place in where you can work without any distractions
Of course, you can work from bed, the couch, or even the dinner table but there are a lot of distractions in your home. If possible it is time to create your own place where you can work without any distractions. And if you don’t need your phone, put it in another room.
Create a routine
Creating a routine is smart. You know when you are the most productive. I am always more productive in the morning. So I use that and wake up an hour early so I can do a lot of things. It also makes your life less chaotic.
Make a to-do list
Another tip that will help to organize your life and make you more productive, is to make a to-do list. Do this before you go to bed, so you won’t think about the things you have to do. I love to write down my to-do list in a notebook because it feels better to write it down on paper than using a phone or something. But that is up to you.
I hope these tips will help you to be more productive.
