Timeshare boyfriend
Two families (the Turner and Pierce families) share a timeshare for two weeks during summer. Adam Pierce and Evie Turner are the same age (10 years old) and during their first summer together, Adam promised this would be forever. But the next few years, they did not spend their summers together. When they are 15/16, they spend their summer again. It’s been years since they have seen each other, but Evie still got her hopes up that she and Adam are meant to be. But during that summer, he changed a lot and he made her cry. A summer later, Evie decides to make him jealous. Will it work? Does Adam still have feelings for her?
Review
This book was one of the books I wanted to read this summer and it kind of reminded me of ‘The summer I turned pretty’. In that book series, Belly has a crush on Conrad but he is sending some mixed signals. It also has the same vibe as in, most of the things are happening around summertime. Belly & Conrad’s family spend the summer together in one house, in this book, Evie and Adam are sharing a timeshare. There were a few similarities. This was kind of funny, because not too long ago, I read ‘The summer I turned pretty’ book series and last weekend I watched all of the episodes of season 1 on Prime. If you liked ‘The summer I turned pretty’ books, you might like this one too. The big difference is that ‘Timeshare boyfriend’ is steamy and there were a few sex scenes in it.
But I really enjoyed it. I mean, it was obvious that Adam still had a crush on Evie. He was acting jealous all the time. But I guess he was dealing with certain things too with his family. He had not the best family situation. On the other hand, Evie believed in love because her parents were still good together.
This is the first book by M.K. Hale I read and I checked out her other books but I am not sure if I am convinced to read them. They might be very good. I really liked her writing style in this book. But the other books have those kinds of covers I absolutely don’t like. I know, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but that is just what I do. The cover of this book looks more innocent. It is still very steamy, but it just looks cute and it looks like the perfect book for summer. Nobody will know exactly how steamy this book is, based on the cover. It is safer to read these in public, I guess.
But just because I probably won’t read her older books, doesn’t mean I am not curious about her next book. Her writing style was great. It was one of those books you can’t stop reading. It was cute and everything. These kinds of books make me feel happy (and hopeless romantic). It was just great. I can definitely recommend reading this one for your summer reading list. The timeshare is next to the beach, which gives you those summer vacation vibes, even when you are not on vacation.
This was the first book I read from my summer reading list and it was a great start. I picked most of the books on that list based on the cover, but this was a great choice.
