Jemma lives with her two best friends in apartment 3B and her love life is dead. One night she finds a note in the cupboard in the kitchen. It is old and it says she will find the love of her life soon. One night she goes to a shooting ranch for the first time. She does not really know how to shoot and she shoots a man in his leg by accident. This man is Dr. Oliver Kinkaid and when Jemma finds out he is saving the lives of little kids, she wants to make it up to him. She offers him a ride every day and wants to cook for him. Things start to develop between the two and Jemma starts to wonder if he is the love of her life.
Review
I found this book the other day and it was free on Kobo and I decided to give it a try. I had never heard of the author, but I think that is the point of the free Kobo books. This way you can discover new authors that you might like. And honestly, I think I just found another great author I like. I just couldn’t put this book down. Unfortunately for me, I had to. I only have time to read in the evening after work, so I have like an hour to read. So I had to put it down.
But I loved this book right from the start. The writing, story and the characters were all amazing. I was secretly falling for Ollie/Oliver too. He sounded like a sexy and good guy. But Jemma was very likeable too and not annoying at all. Sometimes the main character can be a little bit annoying, but no I liked Jemma too. I liked the other characters too. I was sad when I finished the book. But then I remembered this is just the first book of the ‘Love in Apartment 3B’ series and I honestly can’t wait to read the other books. I think Jemma and Oliver will make an appearance again because the other two books are about Jemma’s best friends and roommates. But I am so excited to read them. I already put them on my wishlist. In this book, you already get a glimpse of what is going to happen in the next book. Keane comes over a few times and he is always teasing Fiona. You could already feel the tension.
Everly Ashton wrote more than these three books, so I guess I have enough books to read this summer. These books are perfect for a summer day. But I would recommend making enough time to read these because you don’t want to put them down. The next time I read one of her books, I am going to do it on a day off.
I can definitely recommend this one. Maybe it is still free to download on Kobo if you are reading this. But it is worth your money, in my opinion. The way they meet and the way Jemma feels so guilty for shooting him. But shooting Oliver was the best thing that happened to them because they found each other. The tension is there, and of course, the sudden plot twist that made this complete. I did not see that coming at all, but it was a good one.
If you like romance with a few spicy parts, then this is the book for you.
