A couple of years ago I discovered the Law of Attraction and during that time when I was not feeling well and I was feeling stuck in life. I went to Youtube that day and something caught my attention: the Secret documentary. The first time I watched it and I did not understand it at all. Magic doesn’t exist, right? But that moment also opened my eyes because I was seeing a lot of evidence that it was real. It was working (in a good and bad way) for a lot of people. I decided to watch it again and I suddenly started to manifest things too. From small things to really big things. In this post, I will share and explain the basics of the Law of Attraction.
What is the Law of Attraction?
The easy explanation is that this Law gives you everything you want and need. This could be anything. Maybe you want something materialistic, like a new car or a new house. But it can also give you new opportunities like giving you a new job or finding the love of your life. This law is always working, whether you believe it or not. This law is always working, whether you feel good all of the time or when you feel miserable all of the time. When you feel good you will attract good things and when you feel bad, you will attract bad things.
There are three steps in the process of manifesting (ask, believe receive) you want and I will explain every single step below.
Step 1: Ask
This is probably the easiest part of manifesting new things or people. What do you really want? Do you want a new car? What kind of car, what colour? Always be very specific. If you say I want a new car, the Universe still does not know what kind of car you want. If you want to earn more money, how much do you want to earn? It is also very good to know why you want it. Why do you want that job? Do you want it just to make more money or is it your dream job, your passion? You really have to want it. So when you are doing this just for making extra money, it is not as powerful when it is your biggest passion.
You can ask the Universe for things in different ways. You can say it out loud, you can write it down or you can even make a vision board. Vision boards are great because you’ll see your goals every single day. So you are more focused on what you want.
If you are new to the Law of Attraction, you can always start with manifesting something small. Because it is more believable for you. If you received it, you can ask for something bigger and after that, you can ask for something really big. I think I started with manifesting small like a hamburger. I was very hungry and suddenly I was thinking about food and specifically a hamburger. One or maybe two hours later someone sends me a message that she was coming over and she is bringing hamburgers. Fun fact: she never brings hamburgers. It could not be a coincidence. Since the moment I read more about the Law of Attraction I realized that nothing was a coincidence.
Step 2: Believe
This part is a little bit tricky because sometimes our minds love to play games with us. But you really have to believe that you can do it or that you’ll get it. Even better is when you say: I’m so happy and grateful now that I have/am…….. and you finish that sentence with the things you want.
Replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. Positive thoughts are so much more powerful than negative ones. Every time you notice you have a negative thought, think about something positive. Read success stories. You are not the first one that wants a new car, want to earn more money or want to find their husband/wife. Read those stories and you will start to think that you can also do it. Use affirmations to start believing you can do it.
Another thing you can do to believe you already have it is to pretend as you already have it. How would you feel when you would get it? Try having those feeling right now. If you want to have a girlfriend or boyfriend, make room for that person in your life.
Step 3: Receive
Everything in this Universe is energy and the basic rule of the Law of Attraction says: like attracts like. So if you want to receive the good things, you have to feel good. But when you feel miserable the whole time and you are complaining about everything, you will attract the negative things into your life. But as I said, you want to feel great. Do the things that make you feel great. Listen to your favourite song and have a dance party with yourself. Or maybe you can watch inspirational youtube videos or go out with your friends. Just do the things that make you feel good.
Know that you already can feel healthy, great and positive. Don’t say: when I have this, I will be happy. Instead of saying that you already have to feel happy. Making gratitude lists is a great way to feel grateful and happy for everything you already have. Most of us want more and more, but they are not looking at the things they already have.
And when you feel good, when you believe you can manifest it, your world starts to change. You’ll see more signs from the universe that it is on your way.
