p.s. I still love you
This is the sequel of To all the boys I’ve loved before. In that movie, Lara Jean and Peter are faking a relationship to make people jealous or just to keep them away. But now they decided to date for real. Lara Jean wrote 5 letters and only 4 boys responded. But this time John Ambrose gets his letter and write Lara Jean back. Peter gets jealous because Lara Jean hangs out a lot with John Ambrose because they volunteer together. And Lara Jean is jealous because Peter is hanging out with Genevieve.
I’ve been waiting so long for this movie so I immediately watched it when it came out around 9 am, here in the Netherlands.
It is exactly how I remembered this story from the book. Okay, maybe just a few things are different. But I think it is almost impossible to copy everything single thing from the book. I love Storm and I think she is brilliant too. She is not just an old woman, she is becoming a real friend for Lara Jean. And she notices when something wrong with her. Genevieve is a completely different person when you compare her to the first movie. She was a real bitch in the first movie and looked always so glamourous. And now she is wearing hoodies and no make-up and she had a real conversation with Lara Jean for the first time in years.
The moment that hit me really hard was the moment when Lara Jean broke up with Peter. And you could really see that they still loved each other. I am happy to see that the chemistry was still there. And I am 100% sure that the third movie will be amazing too.
But there was one thing, I had this feeling that some things were missing. We just saw a few snippets of their dad starting dating. I wanted to see more of this because I know what is coming in the third movie. So I think it was essential to see a little bit more of their relationship. And it was a little bit rushed in the end. She went from kissing John Ambrose to Peter in just 2 minutes or so. But overall, it is just a super cute movie to watch for a feelgood feeling.
