Staying at Daisy’s
Daisy is the manager of a hotel in a small town and lost her husband a few years ago in a car accident. Her husband went on a trip with his secret girlfriend. Daisy already had plans to divorce him but he died suddenly. Now she want to stay away from guys who could cheat on her, including Dev.
Tara can’t find a nice new guy and she is becoming a little bit desperate. Then her ex-boyfriend is contacting her, the ex who just got married with ANOTHER woman. Hector and Maggie are seeing each other secretly and nobody can know about this. Can they keep it as a secret?
Review
All of the books by Jill mansell are romantic and predictable. But I think this is the first book where I had doubts who was going to end up with who. Most of the time I already figured it out in the first chapter. But this was different. Which was nice for a change. I love Jill Mansell’s books. They are always easy to read and it gives me always a happy feeling.
I had a hard time to get through the first few pages, maybe that was because I haven’t read a book in a while. But as soon I was drawn into the book, I couldn’t put it down. I had to convince myself to put it down because I was really too tired to read.
There is always one storyline that I don’t like that much and this time it was Maggie and Hector. I think it is always the old couple storyline that I don’t really enjoy. These two were secret dating but it was just a bit boring. Luckily for me, the book was mostly about Daisy, who runs the hotel. I know that she knew her ex husband was cheating on her, but it felt like she didn’t care that he was dead. And Daisy now thinks that handsome guys are the guys who are going to cheat in a relationship. Which is kind of ridicilous of course, because you can’t choose how you look. And Dev is trying to prove that.
De boeken van Jill Mansell lijken me heel erg fijn! Ik ben zelf een moeilijke lezer. Heb al gehoord dat ze fijn lezen, maar heb zelf nog een van haar boeken gelezen. Dank je wel voor het geven van de tip dat deze net iets minder was!
