How is it already March? I can’t believe how fast the days are going. Every month I share my goals for the month and I look back on last month. Did I achieve all of my goals?
Looking back at my February goals
Last month I wrote a blog post with my goals for February and now it is time to look back. But I can already tell you that I failed on every single goal.
Read 8 books
I did not read 8 books. Far from it. I read 4 books in January. It is basically because I was watching too much Netflix. The plan was to read every single night but I didn’t. Netflix can be very addictive sometimes (at least for me). I really have to figure out how to spend less time watching Netflix. I like Netflix but last month I watched way too much. That is the biggest lesson I’ve learned this month
Work-out three times a week
Nope, just nope. I didn’t do a single work-out I believe. But I have to say that I did ride my bike a lot more last month. I think that also counts as a work-out. Especially when you have to ride through 4 storms in a month. So no I didn’t do my work-outs from home, but I did ride my bike a lot. So, in my opinion, I did not fail completely.
Write daily blog posts
I published 15 new blog posts on my blog posts. February had 29 days this year so do the math. I didn’t write daily blog posts. It is still the thing I am working one. Good news: I have already a couple of blog posts for March.
Film 3 videos for YouTube every week
I filmed 4 videos in total. One of them (my Primark Haul) did really well. Normally I got around 20 views on every video. But the Primark video got 150 views, which is amazing. So basically my YouTube channel did better with less content. So I am still happy.
My goals for March 2020
Read 8 books
Yes, I am making this one my goal again. I know I can do it. The thing is that I have to reduce my screen time. If I do that, everything will be fine. And in the week of 7-15 March, it is book week in the Netherlands. So I think I am going to the store and see what books they have right now. Maybe they have books that are on sale too.
I am not sure which books I want to read this month. I still want to read ‘eeny meeny’ and I also have bought ‘Horse Dancer’ by Jojo Moyes a couple of months ago. I also want to read that.
Create an evening and morning routine
This goal sounds maybe a little ridiculous but let me explain this one. In the morning I wake up and I immediately check my phone. That is not a great way to start your day. In the morning I want to do things slowly. Have my breakfast without distractions, maybe some meditations and stretching.
But I also want to change my evening routine. I have sleeping problems and I am not completely sure but I think this has to do with my evening routine. I come home around 8 PM from work and I drink a cup of tea and eat some fruit. After that, I watch Netflix until bedtime. But ending your day like that is not great. They say that the quality of your sleep isn’t great when you look at screens before bedtime. But reading more books before bed is a great way to end your day. It makes you feel relaxed and sleepy.
Create more and better content
I know this goal is a little bit vague and that I have to be more specific. I want to write daily blog posts so that is basically my goal but I will be happy if I publish more than 15. Same for YouTube I want to try to film/upload 5 videos this month. But I also think that quality is more important. When you content is better than more people will find it. If you post a terrible photo of your dog on Instagram, a few will like it. But if you actually put more effort into taking those photos, more people will see it. And that is how you can grow on any social media platform.
That is it for this month. What are your goals for March?
