2019 started a couple of weeks ago already and one of my goals this year is that I really want to get fit and healthy again. A couple of years ago I ran a 5K during the Color Run. I was so much fitter back then. I was still dancing almost every single day, just for fun and because it felt so good. This year I want to focus more on my physical and mental health and you can follow my journey to a healthier and happier me here on my blog.
When I went to university, everything changed. I was sitting down for a majority of the time. During classes, during projects and meetings with other students. I was only very active at my work and I was walking around a lot. I used my bike to get to my work (8km ride). Then I decided to completely focus on my blog and social media and I was sitting down during the day. That really has to change now. I can barely run 1k now and I get out of breath quickly. I want to feel fit and strong again!
That is why I really want to focus on myself this year. I want to run 5K and not just that: I want to have a more active life. I want to do a lot of things without getting tired. This year, I am taking you on my journey to a healthier and happier me. I will probably write more things about (mental) health, fitness and my results. I want to build more muscles, run 5K and walk daily.
And I also hope I can motivate you to be the best version of yourself. We live in a world where we sit a lot, but sitting all day long is worse than smoking. And of course, you want to live longer and healthier. No matter how cold or hot it is, go outside and start running. Or maybe another sport like Yoga.
I want to be more active, a lot more active. Going out for a walk, running, strength training and yoga. I want to walk more often because I love walking around the neighbourhood. Running because I want to run 5K this year, Strength training because I want more muscles (and ass) and yoga for muscles and relax.
I will build everything up. My muscles are not used to work-out, so I think it is better if I just start with strength and yoga. I will start later with running.
But to become the best version of myself I also want to work on my mental health. It is getting better each day. I really want to meditate more often. I do it barely once a week and every time I feel so good and light after a meditation. I even feel ‘high’ sometimes and no I don’t do drugs. Never have. But this is how I would describe how I feel after a meditation. But meditation should be fun, so I don’t want to push myself too much. I don’t have to meditate every single day if I don’t want to. Meditation should be relaxing and fun.
And I want to follow my passions/my heart. Be more productive in the morning and take more time for myself, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the 5-hour workday, so that is something I want to try for myself.
