About A hundred pieces of me
Gina got divorced and is now moving to her new apartment. On the first day of moving, she realizes that she has a lot of stuff. And on that day she decides to start a new project: throw everything away that she doesn’t need or doesn’t make her happy. She only wants to keep 100 things and the rest has to go.
In the meantime, she is also working on another project: her clients just bought a new beautiful house and they want to renovate it.
In this book, you learn that Gina knows nothing about her dad. She had cancer. She lost her one true love. She has issues with her mother.
This is the first time that I read a book by Lucy Dillon, but no no no! This ending of this book is so cruel. Why isn’t there a second book? I need a second book because I need answers! NOW! But let’s begin at the beginning. I like the plot and it is interesting. Gina got divorced because her husband was cheating on her. And when she is moving to her new apartment, she realizes how much stuff she has. She starts to declutter and she only wants to keep a hundred things. I like this project a lot and it reminds me of myself because a while ago I also decided to throw everything away that I didn’t need anymore.
The weird part was that someone wanted to buy her bike and he leaves a dog (was it really his dog?) at her house. He never comes back. Gina was not prepared for that and now she has to take care of a dog too because they haven’t found a new family for him yet.
At first, I wasn’t sure what kind of book this was. Is it going to be a romantic book? Well, yes and no apparently. I think the ending was way too sad to be a romantic novel. Also, this hundred things project plays the biggest part in this book and in Gina’s life. But you can tell that Gina is also growing as a person in this book. In the beginning, she wasn’t ready for a new relationship but she opened up a lot more towards the ending.
