About Looking for Alaska

Looking for Alaska is about Miles. He is done with who he was. He barely had friends and on his saying goodbye party only two people stopped by. Miles is going to a new school: a boarding school called Culver Creek Preparatory School in Alabama and it was his own choice. He becomes friends with his roommate Chip and he gets a new nickname: Pudge. On his first day, he meets Alaska and he immediately falls in love with her.

Did you know that they are making a new tv-series of this book? They decided to make a tv-series instead of a movie. Probably only one season, I think. Because there is only one book about Alaska. And to be honest, I think I prefer a movie rather than a tv-series.  Because if it becomes a success, they will make another season and everything gets ruined.

The first time when I read this book, I had no idea what would happen. I saw that the chapters were called ‘before’  and ‘after’. But had no idea that this would happen. I remember that I cried a lot, because of what happened. A little bit vague, but I don’t want to spoil what will happen. Because that will ruin this whole book. It is my favourite book by John Green as I am not a big fan of his books. But I really liked this one. And I want to see the tv-series of course.

Pudge was blinded by love. Even when he had a girlfriend (Lara) and Alaska had a boyfriend, they kissed each other. But did it mean something for Alaska? Because according to Chip, she kissed a lot of boys even though she was in a relationship. Sounds like she loved to play games with them. But there was a part of her that was broken. The day when her mother died was the worst day of her life. Alaska (8 years old) was there when she died, but she didn’t call the police. Her father blamed her for that. And so did she.
