About Everything, Everything
My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.
But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.
Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.
This book is different, but in a good way. This book includes IM chat conversations, doodles, which makes it even more fun to read. It makes it more special. I am kind of in love with this lovestory. You can feel the chemistry between Maddy and Olly. Both of them have their own problems. Maddy can’t leave the house and Olly has an abusive dad.
I love how the book ‘the little prince’ is also mentioned in this book. I love that book, I had to read it for my French classes. That is probably why I also felt a connection with Maddy, I could relate to her. I had a time when I didn’t leave my house, own choice because of anxiety disorder. But just like her I didn’t give up. She wanted to live, and so did I. Life is a gift, do not waste it.
Also, did not expect the ending. I didn’t know what I would expect, but not this!
I know this everything, everything is already made into a movie, but I still haven’t seen it yet. I’ve heard that the movie wasn’t as good as the book.
