About Return to Willow Lake
Sonnet Romano grew up in Avalon, a very small town nestled on the shores of Willow lake.
But she couldn’t wait to leave Avalon for New York to become succesfull and she has just been offered a prestigious fellowship abroad. And her boyfriend works in politics. You would think that she is happy, but there is something missing.
Suddenly she gets a call from her mother and Sonnet goes back to Avalon. Her mother is pregnant and she recently got diagnosed with cancer. Sonnet decides to give everything up to take care of her mother. That also means that she had to find a new job in Avalon and now she is forced to work with Zach Alger. Her best friend. The one she kissed a while back.
I am currently trying to read a few books from authors I’ve never heard before. Recently I was in a store where they also sell books sometimes and I found this one from Susan Wiggs. Susan Wiggs is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and she writes about romance.
Because I didn’t know Susan, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. But I liked this book. It is very easy to read, I like her writing style. I think if you like Nora Roberts or Jill Mansell, you would definitely like this book too. It is romantic and sad at the same time. Sonnet’s mother gets diagnosed with cancer while she is pregnant and you follow her journey too. Sonnet is taking care of her mom and she decided to quit her job and leave everything behind for a while. Even her boyfriend Orlando. But I have no idea why Sonnet kept Orlando as a boyfriend for so long. It was so obvious that she liked him, but didn’t love him. She even said: I think we could fall in love. She thought he would be the perfect guy for her. But I think when you fall in love, you will know and feel it.
Would I read more books from Susan Wiggs? Yes, I think so. I like her writing style, so that is a big plus. I just saw on book Depository that she also wrote a few books about Christmas, so I think I already know what I am going to order for this Christmas.
Have you ever heard of Susan Wiggs?
