About Chilling adventures of Sabrina
Sabrina Spellman is not your average mortal teenage girl. No, she is a half witch, half mortal. But that does mean that on her sixteenth birthday, she has to make a choice. Does she say goodbye to her mortal friends?
Sabrina is pretty rebellious and she does things that are pretty dangerous or wrong. She makes a dead person undead, but that does not turn out very well. There are a lot of complications. She has to fight the demons that are also threatening the human world. She wants to protect her friends. And they even don’t know that she is a half-witch.
When I was little, I used to watch (and read) Sabrina: the teenage witch a lot. But this is nothing like that tv show from the 90s-00s. Sabrina the teenage witch was really a funny show to watch. But the Chilling adventures of Sabrina is so much darker. There are demons which reminds me a little bit of stranger things. But the characters are the same as the original and I am kind of surprised in a good way. For me, they picked the right actors. They kind of look like the same people. I mean Kiernan looks like a combination of Melissa Joan Hart (the old Sabrina) mixed with Emma Watson. I think Netflix did a great job is picking the right actors (based on looks).
Of course, I am comparing it to the old show. There are a few things that are different: it is so much darker, the cat Salem does not speak (well, at least we can’t hear what he is saying.) and who is Ambrose Spellman? I know he is Sabrina’s cousin but never knew that Sabrina had family beside her aunts Hilda and Zelda.
I decided to read other opinions about the show because I saw that the show had a 7.8 on IMDB. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea how, because I can only find really bad ratings and reviews. And I kind of agree with some of them. The screen is a little bit too dark. Sabrina thinks she really knows best and she does everything without thinking. And apparently, witches and warlocks are the dark lord’s biggest fan. Except for Sabrina, because she wants to fight him.
What I liked about the show were Ambrose and Prudence. They need to get their own show. I think they were funnier and cooler to watch than Sabrina. The rest of the show was a little bit too slow and boring for me. I was expecting a lot of spells just like in the original Sabrina.
