Do you want to have less stress this year and for the rest of your life? I give you 8 ways to de-stress, so you can feel more relaxed and happier right now.

Make a good planning

I, personally, love to plan my whole day. It keeps me busy and it does not give me time to overthink and to stress about minor things. But a good planning also means that you don’t plan everything on one day and the next day you have absolutely nothing to do.

Schedule enough time for everything

Sometimes we think can do a lot more in an hour than we really can. And when you plan a lot of things into your day, you can get stressed because you have to hurry and work fast. Figure out how much time each task takes. For example, I take two hours for writing a blog post (unless it is a big one). I don’t have to hurry, which leads to better results (better blog posts).

Schedule me-time after a busy day

Of course, me-time is still important in 2019. You have to take care of yourself. If you are not feeling well, you will see that in your work. Take a bath if you want to and eat that pizza you want to eat. Book a massage or go to the sauna. Just do anything that will make you feel good.

Be realistic (and say no)

Almost the same as number 1 on this list, but you have to be realistic. If you already have plans and you don’t have time for something else, please say no!! Or reschedule it for another day if it is possible. You can’t be everywhere all of the time. Don’t feel bad when you have to say no.

Unnecessary commitments/tasks

Do you really have to do everything that is on your to-do lists? Or maybe there is something that is not that important. And maybe you can do those tasks later, on a different day. Do the important things first.

Save time (limit phone time etc)

How much time do you spend on your phone, watching Netflix or just scrolling on google? Is it really neccessary? And you still have to finish your work. Do your work first and after that, you can always watch something on Netflix if you really want.

Most of the time we are just wasting our precious time on social media. Every time you get a notification your brain releases a little bit of dopamine and it is a great feeling. It can be very addictive but we people need to live more offline than online. We should live in the moment and focus on what really matters. Do you want to start a digital detox? Go to bed early

Some people say you are more productive in the morning (early). But you won’t be very productive when you wake up at 5 AM after just 5 hours of sleep. Okay, there are some people who don’t need a lot of sleep. But just listen what your body is saying. Do you need 8 hours of sleep every night? Then sleep for 8 hours.

Be active

You have to stay active all day long. It is great for your body, you will feel healthier, happier and more productive. It is also great for your concentration and your stress levels. Every day I take a long walk, because it makes me feel so good. Even when I feel a little bit stressed, I go outside and I immediately feel better.

    Helpful tips. I always schedule down time each day. It is so important. Stepping outside does it for me too. It is amazing what a little fresh air and nature can do for the soul.
