10 tips voor positiever zelfbeeld

These days you hear a lot of people talking about body positivity. What what is it? Body positivity is a social movement rooted in the belief that all human beings should have a positive body image. You should be happy with your body. And with social media these days it can be very challenging to feel good about yourself and your body. These are 10 tips for body positivity that really work.

10 tips for body positivity that really work

Work on how you think about yourself

Body positivity is all about how you see yourself and if you are okay with how you look like. And it is not that your body is weird and ugly, it is what you think. You think that your nose is too big or that you are too fat. There could be a lot of reasons why you started believing that you are ‘ugly’ but you can always change how you feel about yourself. Start using affirmations. And remember: you are beautiful

Stop listening what other people say

This is also a great one. Some people are trying to bring you down. Maybe they are just jealous because your hair looks always great or maybe it is because they feel insecure about themselves. Don’t listen to them. They are wrong!

Realise that everyone has their own insecurities

You are not the only one who is insecure. I know I can be insecure and I think you probably can be insecure sometimes too. If you are not, great! Nothing wrong with that either. Apparently insecurities is a part of our lives. Just own it!

Be grateful for your body

Be grateful that you can walk, be grateful that you can see, hear and talk and just be grateful that your body is working and is keeping you alive. Without your body, you wouldn’t be here.

Find things that you like

Maybe you don’t like your love handles, but maybe you do like your eyes or your legs. Focus on the things that you really like about yourself. Write it down and put it somewhere you can see it every single day. There is no such thing as a perfect body, nothing and nobody is perfect.

Take care of your body

Taking care of your body will make you feel better. Exercise is a way to take care of your body, but also me-time like taking a long bath. And eat the right foods.

Don’t focus too much on your looks

You are so much more than your looks, never forget that! If you think that you are the most beautiful person in the world but you act like an asshole, you will never be my friend.
If you are honest, nice and just fun to hang out with, people will like you too. Inner beauty is so much more powerful than looks.

Don’t follow people who make you feel insecure

Especially these days with social media it is easy to feel more insecure. You look on your Instagram feed and you see all of those perfect Instagram photos. Well, I can tell you that a lot of them are photoshopped or they use millions of filters. And if someone makes you feel bad about yourself and lower your vibration, unfollow him/her. I mean, would you prefer following people who lower your vibe or who will raise your vibe and makes you feel powerful?

Follow people who talk about body positivity

Of course, this body positivity movement has its pros. There are a few people who talk a lot about body positivity and that you should embrace yourself. Follow those people on social media. Look for bloggers or YouTubers who talk about this topic. Focus on the good things, don’t waste your time on negativity.

Wear clothes that make you feel sexy and comfortable

Clothes can make you feel like shit or makes you feel like you are superwoman. For me, I feel like a superwoman when I wear lingerie, skinny jeans and an awesome shirt. But for you, it can mean that you feel badass when you are wearing your favourite dress. Wear things that make you feel good.
