This is the obvious one. Exercising helps you burn calories and this is essential when you want to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, it is important to lose more calories than you eat.
Gives you extra energy
Do you ever feel so tired that you don’t want to exercise. That is the moment when you should. For me it helps so much when I go for a walk when I feel a bit tired. When I come home 20 minutes later I feel new and full of energy. So take a break if possible and go for a walk. Also: when you are watching television and you are feeling tired, exercise during the commercial breaks. Get up and do some jumping jacks. And when you are at work, you can go out for a walk during your lunchbreak. There are so many options. You don’t have to go to your local gym to work-out.
Improves your mood
If you exercise often, you will know that you feel good after your work-out. Your body releases happy chemicals in your brain, also known as dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in the brain that’s necessary for feelings of pleasure and happiness. Do you want to feel happier, start exercising!
Exercising will also help with you selfconfidence. When you have a low self-esteem, maybe it is time to work-out. You will see your body transform and eventually you will feel stronger, healthier and more confident.
Good for your body/health
Ofcourse exercising is good for your body. You are stronger and skinnier, but there are more important benefits. Your blood pressure will be lower, it is better for your heart and you will age less fast. You will look younger.
Exercising is not only good for your body, but also good for your brain. When you move around, your blood circulation is better. Which improves your thinking, your focus and it is easier for you to study. It is better to walk every hour when you are studying than when you study for hours and hours without exercising.
These days, everyone is experiencing some stress. Exercising will help you with this. That’s because when you exercise, you’re actually subjecting yourself to a low-level form of stress by raising your heart rate and triggering a burst of hormonal changes. When you subject yourself to the stress of exercise enough, your body will eventually get better at handling the rest of life’s stressors. And when you feel less stressed, you will live a happier life.
It also works for people with anxiety. I do have anxiety, but I feel better when I work-out daily and get enough exercise. When you are really anxious, you can start small. Go for a walk for 10 minutes and increase that amount of time when you are ready for it.
